Survalienne Spotlight: Malak (Saudi Arabia, Class of 2025)
Malak graduated from Surval Montreux in 2025 with a passion for hospitality management and ambitious goals for her future. After being accepted to both Glion Institute of Higher Education and EHL Hospitality Business School, two of the world's leading hospitality institutions, she chose to continue her studies at Glion. Today, she is completing her first internship in Dubai, gaining valuable industry experience as she begins her journey in the world of hospitality.
Below, Malak shares her reflections on her time at Surval and the lasting impact it has had on her personal and academic journey.
What are your best Surval memories?
Without a doubt, the friendships I made and the memories we created together. What began as a group of girls from different countries and backgrounds quickly grew into a true sisterhood. The connections we built, the experiences we shared, and the support we gave one another are memories I will always treasure.
How did Surval help prepare you for a career in hospitality?
Surval played a significant role in preparing me for hospitality studies and the industry itself. Through the Savoir-Vivre programme, I developed an understanding of international etiquette, cultural awareness, communication, and professional presentation—skills that are essential in the world of hospitality. Living and studying within such a diverse international community also taught me how to connect with people from different backgrounds, adapt to new situations, and provide a welcoming environment for others. These experiences gave me a strong foundation and helped me feel confident as I began my studies at Glion and now my internship in Dubai.
How did Surval help you graduate?
Surval supported me both academically and personally, helping me grow into a more confident and independent young woman. The encouragement of my teachers and the close-knit community gave me the tools, motivation, and support I needed to successfully reach graduation and prepare for the next stage of my journey.
Why would you recommend Surval? What was your favourite thing about the school?
My favourite thing about Surval was the sense of community. Living and learning together created friendships that felt more like family, and the sisterhood we built is something I will carry with me wherever I go. Surval is more than a school—it is a place where girls are encouraged to grow, discover their potential, and form lifelong connections.
