Making Waves for Hope: The Surval Swimathon

At Surval Montreux, we believe that some of life's most valuable lessons are learned through challenge, teamwork, and service to others. This spirit was beautifully demonstrated during the recent Surval Swimathon, where Surval girls and staff came together to support Léman Hope, a charity dedicated to helping children who have faced cancer rebuild their confidence and connect with others who have shared similar experiences.

As the culmination of the Swiss Gap girls' fundraising efforts throughout the Spring term, the Swimathon challenged participants to swim 5 kilometres across Lac Leman, symbolising the distance between Switzerland and France. Rather than crossing the lake directly, the route followed the shoreline from Vevey to the iconic Château de Chillon, offering a unique and memorable challenge against the backdrop of one of Switzerland's most spectacular landscapes.

The event brought together girls and staff from across the Surval community, united by a shared purpose and determination to make a difference.  The Swimathon was made possible thanks to the support of André from Swiss Paddle, whose expertise and encouragement helped ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Most importantly, the Swimathon helped raise both funds and awareness for Léman Hope and its important mission, bringing the total raised by the Swiss Gap girls to 1200 CHF. By stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing the challenge, our girls demonstrated remarkable courage, resilience, and generosity.
